AMP Email Fallback

AMP Email offers significant advantages in creating much more dynamic and engaging email campaigns. However, just like other interactive email technologies, it's important to understand how different email clients support these features.

Our goal is to ensure recipients can view both the interactive AMP email and the fallback HTML version we provide.

Why is Fallback Important for AMP Email?

The AMP email format is still relatively new, meaning only a small number of email clients currently support AMP. Major ones that do include Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Mail.ru, and FairEmail. If a recipient's email client doesn't support AMP, they will see the HTML fallback instead. Without a fallback, some recipients may miss important content.

By providing both an AMP version and an HTML fallback, you ensure that all your subscribers can view your email as intended.

How Does AMP Email Work in Mailtarget?

When sending an AMP email, Mailtarget allows you to send emails with two formats:

  1. AMP Part: The main AMP content, designed for supported clients like Gmail or Yahoo Mail.
  2. HTML Fallback: A standard HTML email that appears for clients that don't support AMP.

This dual-format approach ensures every recipient can see your email, whether they use a client that supports AMP or not.

How to Set Up Fallback in Mailtarget?

When composing your AMP email in Mailtarget, you'll be prompted to provide both the AMP HTML and standard HTML versions. Here's a simple example of how to structure your email.

For supported clients (Gmail, Yahoo), the AMP part will be displayed. For unsupported clients, the HTML fallback will be shown.
